CATEGORY PURCHASE MANAGER
with focus on the Crawford Group, Residential Garage Division (RGD) and Wastewater Technology division (ABS). Office location will be at Crawford Production Heerhugowaard, The Netherlands. You will report directly to the Vice President Purchasing Cardo Group in Sweden and the Operations Director in the Netherlands.
Job description
- Your challenge is to optimize the total cost of supply by continuous improvement within a defined product category. These group wide purchasing categories consist of steel, aluminium, electronics, chemicals, motors, logistics, casting, hardware and sub contracting. Depending on your background different allocations of categories can be considered.
- You will be responsible for implementation of the company’s processes, procedures and policies related to purchasing to all suppliers within the defined product category. Furthermore you will be responsible to build, sustain and optimize good relations with serious and competent suppliers. This position also includes some local purchase activities up to 25% of your time. You will act as an ambassador of Crawford, RGD and ABS.
- Some of your key responsibilities:
- To implement and optimize total cost perspective towards suppliers as the sum of direct cost, capital employed, cash flow, quality and service;
- Keeping an active communication with different stakeholders, in order to anticipate to market trends and internal needs, linking purchasing to company business strategy;
- Negotiate and formalize contracts with suppliers; assess and evaluate their performance and cost structures as well as initiate, develop and implement efficiency programs towards them;
- Follow and forecast the cost development in defined product category on a global basis;
- Coordinate with Operations units, Quality, R&D, MPC and Sales in order to optimize relations with suppliers and Crawford / RGD / ABS.
Profile
Cardo is looking for a highly motivated candidate with an university degree or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years experience within strategic sourcing, supply chain or purchasing.
Experience from international sourcing with negotiating contracts in Europe.
Experience from total cost sourcing.
Independent, proactive, structured and well organized.
Strong communication and negotiations skills.
Ability to fully work with all parts of MS Office.
Willing to travel up to 60 days per year.
Fluency in English and Dutch is required, other languages are a plus.
